Michigan’s Youth Empowerment Solutions Program: Engaging Youth in Violence Prevention

Michigan’s Youth Empowerment Solutions for Positive Youth Development is a curriculum-based violence prevention program that is based on the theory of youth empowerment and community engagement. Designed to be an after-school program for middle-school aged kids. YES grew out of work with community partners and University of Michigan faculty talking about how to engage youth to be part of the solution instead of being the focus of the problem, the problem being youth violence.
