This week, This is Public Health hosted a donation drive at ASPPH headquarters in Washington, DC.
Food and toiletries were collected and donated to ThriveDC, a local organization that provides vulnerable individuals with a comprehensive range of services to help stabilize their lives. ThriveDC provides clients with hot meals, warm showers, clean clothes, substance abuse programs, and employment assistance. They rely largely on the generosity of donors to continue serving the community.
This is Public Health and ASPPH encourage you to host or participate in a food drive near you. Remember, food donations are needed during the holidays, but also year round.
Not sure how to get started? Feeding America is a nationwide network of food banks that can help you find your local food bank.
