2017 ASPPH Annual Meeting – Session Highlight: Firearms and Public Health: Strategic Imperatives for Public Health

Dean Sandro Galea (BU) will moderate and present on the action agenda for academic public health around the firearm crisis at the session titled, Firearms and Public Health: Strategic Imperatives for Public Health, on Friday, March 17 from 10:15 – 11:45 a.m. The action agenda was developed by representatives of 42 member schools and programs of public health as well as advocates representing gun violence prevention advocacy organizations attending the summit focusing on gun violence that was convened by Dean Galea in November 2016. The agenda was recently made available as an e-View ahead of publication in the March issue of the American Journal of Public Health. The session will allow time for a robust discussion with panelists, who also participated in the summit, and focus on the imperatives and key tactical approaches proposed to address this critical public health challenge.

The program for the ASPPH Annual Meeting focuses on issues of critical importance to our schools and programs.
