Registration for ASPPH’s 2019 Student Leadership Institute (SLI) is now open. This year’s SLI is a day and a half of workshops focusing on using design thinking to solve public health challenges. Held Saturday and Sunday, November 2-3, prior to the start of APHA, attendees will learn Affinity Mapping, Customer Service Mapping, and Problem Scoping, and get to utilize these new skills to address climate change.
Additionally, through our partnership with Experimental Civics, who will be leading the SLI workshops, students who attend SLI and wish to do so can take their solutions to Capsule in June 2020, the largest civic hackathon in the world focused on addressing the climate crisis.
This year, we are lifting the two-student per member limitation, allowing member institutions to send as many students as they want. Students may also register on their own if they wish to participate – the only restriction remains that they must be a current student at an ASPPH member institution.
Students do not need to attend APHA to be eligible to participate in the Student Leadership Institute.
For more details and to register, visit the event site. Registration will be open until October 18, or until the event sells out, whichever comes first.
