Over the past 40 years, exposure to lead has declined in the United States. However, millions are still being exposed in their homes and environment. Lead exposure can seriously harm a child’s health and there is no safe blood lead level in children. Yet more than 500,000 children in the United States have elevated blood lead levels.
Lead exposure often occurs with no obvious symptoms, and it frequently goes unrecognized. Thousands of cities across the nation have significant lead hazards. The Flint, MI water crisis highlighted the problem of lead exposure as a public health, environmental, and economic development issue.

To find our courses use the search term “Public Health Grand Rounds”. To receive continuing education you must complete the online seminar evaluation and post-test. Continuing education will be available for up to 2 years and 1 month after the initial session offering.
Target audience: physicians, nurses, epidemiologists, pharmacists, veterinarians, certified health education specialists, laboratorians, and others.
Continuing Education (CE) certificates can be printed from your computer immediately upon completion of your online evaluation and posttest. A cumulative transcript of all CDC/Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) CE credits obtained through the TCE Online system will be maintained for each user.
