ASPPH and the de Beaumont Foundation are releasing a new report that examines the growth trends in undergraduate public health education over the past two decades. Using data from the National Center for Education Statistics, the results show that public health is now one of the fastest growing undergraduate majors in the United States. The article, “Characterizing the growth of the undergraduate public health major, 1992-2012” is being released in conjunction with the fourth annual Undergraduate Education for Public Health Summit and can be read online at Public Health Reports.
The report is the first of its kind to map this significant growth trend in undergraduate education for public health. Explore the results using the interactive data dashboard.
ASPPH thanks the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for their support of ASPPH on this research.
