The ASPPH Data Center partnered with Georgia State University School of Public Health to present at the 2016 Tableau Conference in Austin, TX last week. Tableau is the business analytics software that powers the dashboards found on the ASPPH Data Center Member Portal and the ASPPH website. The presentation, ASPPH Data Center: Using Tableau to Foster a Culture of Data in Higher Education and Public Health, highlighted how ASPPH is providing members with the ability to conduct decision-making using ASPPH annual data via interactive dashboards. The presentation culminated with a case study provided by Dr. Lindy Parker, director of accreditation and evaluation at Georgia State University School of Public Health. Leveraging the ASPPH Data Center Member Portal, Georgia State uses ASPPH benchmarking data to evaluate student retention rates as well as faculty counts and compensation. Dr. Parker previously presented on this work at the 2016 ASPPH Annual Meeting.
