This week, over 70 ASPPH-member schools and programs of public health participated in the ASPPH Leadership Retreat in San Diego, CA. After a welcome from Dean Gary Raskob (Oklahoma), ASPPH board chair, the retreat began with a discussion on the population health agenda for academic public health, followed by leadership tools focused on change management and fundraising. Attendees also received updates on initiatives affecting ASPPH’s mission and participated in a session on communities in crisis.
ASPPH would like to thank the retreat planning committee, Dean Eddie Lawlor – chair (WashU), Dean Linda Fried (Columbia), Dean Bill Martin (Ohio State), Dr. Dele Ogunseitan (UC Irvine), and Dean Donna Petersen (South Florida) for planning this successful event and shaping the agenda.
The full agenda for the retreat can be found here and further details on the initiatives discussed at the retreat will be provided in future issues of the Friday Letter.
