ASPPH Poster Presentations at APHA

ASPPH will present two posters at APHA:

325864 – Education for Population Health across All Professions

Academic Public Health Caucus Poster Session I, Monday, November 02, 12:30 p.m. – 01:30 p.m.

McCormick Place Convention Center: Exhibit Hall F, Board 5

The poster highlights the work of the Framing the Future Population Health across All Professions expert panel that was charged with describing the elements of population health that all professionals would benefit from learning during their education. As part of its mission to create a broad vision for education in public health for the twenty-first century, the Framing the Future Task Force, established by ASPPH, recognizes the significant value of interprofessional engagement and the essential need for cross-disciplinary collaboration to improve population health outcomes and health equity. An evident commitment is to bidirectional learning, recognizing that effective interprofessional collaboration also depends on public health students acquiring the insights, tools, and vocabulary of other professions. ASPPH designed the poster to be interactive in order to engage attendees in the conversation.

321056 – Academic Public Health: Student Practicum as a Bridge to Practice

Academic Public Health Caucus Poster Session II, Tuesday, November 3, 2:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m.

McCormick Place Convention Center: Exhibit Hall F, Board 5

The poster illustrates the results of a study supported through the ASPPH/CDC Centers for Surveillance, Epidemiology and Laboratory Services cooperative agreement that examined the practicum experiences of graduate students at ASPPH member schools and programs of public health in governmental health agencies. ASPPH designed the poster to be interactive to engage attendees to tell us the skills graduate students need to develop to be effective members of the governmental public health workforce.
