ASPPH invites members to participate in this ASPPH Presents Webinar, co-sponsored by CDC, titled “ASPPH Presents: CDC Public Health Associate Program (PHAP) and BEST FIT Candidate Model Overview” on Friday December 18 from 2-3:00 p.m. Eastern.
The Public Health Associate Program (PHAP) is a two-year, paid, training program with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. PHAP associates are assigned to public health agencies and non-governmental organizations around the country. Associates are entry-level, early career public health professionals with a desire to impact public health service delivery. During their two-year training, associates will gain hands-on experience that will serve as a foundation in their public health career. The BEST FIT Model describes the characteristics of the ideal PHAP candidate. The seven BEST FIT characteristics are: Big picture thinker, Effective communicator, Socially and culturally inclusive, Thrives in a dynamic environment,Flexible, Intelligent, and Tactile learner. The 2016 application cycle for PHAP candidates is open January 4-8, 2016.
