CDC’s Influenza Division Names Award for Michigan Professor

In 2015, the Influenza Division of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention established an award to recognize “exceptional contribution to the understanding of influenza epidemiology and prevention. The award was named The Arnold S. Monto Award. Dr. Monto is the Thomas Francis Jr. Collegiate Professor of Public Health in the epidemiology department of Michigan’s School of Public Health. Monto’s extensive work in the field of influenza epidemiology and vaccinology, as well as his mentorship to many scientists working in this division of the CDC, are what inspired naming this the Arnold S. Monto Award.
