Dean David Goff (Colorado), chair of the ASPPH Accreditation and Credentialing Committee, and staff are organizing ASPPH working groups to respond to the full set of criteria the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) will release in Round 2 of their proposed accreditation criteria revisions.
As a reminder, Dean Goff worked with ASPPH’s board chair, Dean Gary Raskob (Oklahoma), and Dr. Harrison Spencer (ASPPH) to prepare, vet, and submit our consensus response to CEPH in their Round 1 of curricular reviews. See ASPPH’s letter here.
CEPH has informed us that they will release the upcoming draft document no later than November 10. See CEPH’s details regarding their plans for Round 2 here.
Dean Goff plans to host another webinar to air members’ reactions to the latest draft and to cover Q&A with the Accreditation Committee and CEPH staff. He also will populate another focus group to review the pending draft recommendations. Both activities will take place by the middle of December (dates TBD), before member schools and programs depart for winter breaks.
Comments will be due to CEPH on January 8, 2016 so that they can translate stakeholder feedback from Round 2 to their board councilors at their late January meeting. CEPH plans to open Round 3 of comments, on a more refined version of the full set of criteria, as soon as possible after that meeting.
