Colorado Faculty Op-Ed: Statistics can save lives

Dr. Debashis Ghosh, professor and chair of biostatistics and informatics, at the Colorado School of Public Health recently penned an opinion editorial for The Hill, along with faculty Dr. Karen Bandeen-Roche, from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Dr. Jason Roy from Rutgers School of Public Health.

In the article, they convey the importance of statistics with ideas like evidenced-based approaches to estimating the deaths from natural disasters illustrates how mortality may occur.

“Verifiable, trustworthy data on a storm’s impact helps inform the government’s immediate and long-term response,” Dr. Ghosh said.
