Dr. Meghan M. FitzGerald, Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health adjunct assistant professor of health policy and management, was named to the Board of Directors of the healthcare services company Tenet Healthcare Corporation (NYSE: THC). Dr. FitzGerald’s background combines experience across different aspects of healthcare, including policy, innovation, business development and strategy.

Tenet Healthcare operates centers and other outpatient facilities in the United States and the United Kingdom.
In addition to her responsibilities as a member of the faculty at the Mailman School, Dr. FitzGerald is a managing partner at L1 Health LLC, an investment fund specializing in healthcare. From May 2015 to October 2016, Dr. FitzGerald served as executive vice president of Strategy and Policy at the healthcare services and product company Cardinal Health, and earlier, was president of Cardinal’s Specialty Solutions division. Prior to joining Cardinal Health, FitzGerald was a senior vice president at Medco Health Solutions, Inc., and previously held positions of increasing responsibility at Pfizer Global Pharmaceuticals, and marketing positions at Merck and Sanofi-Synthelabo. She is a member of the board of directors for SeniorLink, a model of in home care for elders, and of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Ageing where she recently co-authored Longevity in the Workplace: 60 is the new 40. Dr. FitzGerald has worked in many sectors of healthcare and is an expert speaker on such topics as specialty healthcare; healthcare policy and reform; and women in executive leadership.
Dr. FitzGerald received her MPH from the Mailman School, and holds a DrPH in Healthcare Policy from New York Medical College, and a BSN in Nursing from Fairfield University.
