The American Hospital Association (AHA) has announced a new effort to work with hospitals nationwide to close gaps in health equity, as it relates to the link between where people live and their health. The organization has launched the Hospital Community Cooperative (HC2), a national program that will address the issue.
Dr. Amy Carroll-Scott, an assistant professor in the department of community health and prevention at the Drexel University Dornsife School of Public Health, has joined the National Advisory Committee for the project. The Committee will work to contribute high-level guidance and decision-making support throughout the life of the program. The AHA will complete an evaluation of HC² and report the findings in late 2019.
