Drexel Faculty Member Contributes to National Strategy to Eliminate Hepatitis B and C

Dr. Alison A Evans, associate professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the Dornsife School of Public Health at Drexel University, served on a National Academy of Medicine consensus committee to develop a strategy for the elimination of viral hepatitis B and C in the United States by 2030.

The group’s first report, published in April 2016, laid out the rationale and feasibility of eliminating these two infections in the United States.

The group recently released its second report, A National Strategy for the Elimination of Hepatitis B and C: Phase Two Report, which details specific actions to achieve elimination through information, interventions, service delivery, financing, and research. The findings will be considered in development of a national plan.
