Drexel MPH Alumna Receives Young Investigator Award for Work to Help Philadelphia Moms Stay on Track with HIV Care

Ms. Joella Adams, a 2014 graduate of Drexel University’s School of Public Health Master’s program, has received a young investigator award for her work to help Philadelphia moms stay on track with HIV care. She will present the findings of her research, which started as her community-based master’s project during her second year at Drexel, at the Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI) in February. She will also get to participate in a special training day for young investigators, where she will gain insight into community health, laboratory science, and vaccine development efforts and opportunities to have an impact on ending HIV.
