Drexel Study Examines Impact of September 11 Attacks on Mental Distress and Diabetes

A new study led by researchers at the Drexel University School of Public Health shows that the attacks of September 11, 2001 may have resulted in an increase in the prevalence of diabetes and mental distress. The article discussing this study – which was authored by Dr. Longjian Liu, an associate professor at the School of Public Health, along with coauthors and School of Public Health alumni Mr. Wei Zhao, Ms. Pam Phojanakong, Mr. Po-Nan Chang, and Dr. Shaum M. Kabadi, – was recently published in the Journal of Translational Medicine and Epidemiology.
