A major initiative of ASPPH, the Framing the Future task force, was established to rethink education in public health 100 years after the Welch Rose Report of 1915. The Welch Rose Report provided a rationale and blueprint for schools of public health in the United States.
ASPPH convened experts from practice and academe to explore issues related to education in public health. These issues ranged from undergraduate through doctoral levels, as well as interdisciplinary and interprofessional perspectives. To examine these issues, ASPPH convened six panels
