  • Skill-Building Workshops (March 18)

On Wednesday, March 18, we are offering skill-building workshops from 1:30 – 5:00 p.m. Attendees must register in advance for the workshops and there is an additional fee, please review the registration details and fees. Each workshop gives participants an opportunity for more in-depth training and discussion on the following topics:

From Data to Ta-Da! Communicating Insights with Data, Visualization, and Narrative

Merging theory and practice, workshop participants learn how to design high-impact data visualizations. Building on this new-found skill, attendees begin writing their narrative using storyboarding and other techniques to explain data insights and engage audiences. When these essential elements (data, visuals, and narrative) are combined, your data story can drive evidence-based decision-making. All attendees receive a data visualization and storyboarding workbook.

Bias Awareness and Intervention Training Lab

Observe. Interact. Replay. This interactive workshop allows participants to take in moments of bias from the perspective of the bystander and then play the experimenter and director from the comfort of their chair. The facilitated session allows participants to identify incidents of bias and explore different ways to address those issues in a positive and constructive way.
