BU To Host Imposter Syndrome: Why Capable People Suffer and How to Thrive in Spite of It

From CEOs to PhDs to acclaimed actors, millions of people secretly worry they’re not as bright or as capable as they are perceived to be. This is known as the “Impostor Syndrome.” Valerie Young, author of The Secret Thoughts of Successful Women: Why Capable People Suffer from the Impostor Syndrome and How to Thrive in Spite of It, will discuss the reasons why accomplished individuals feel as though they are “faking it,” and will provide insight and tools on how to eliminate this thought pattern. Participants are encouraged to share their thoughts with the hashtag, #BUSPHdiversity.

Tuesday, September 18, 4:30 to 6 p.m.
