Environment Section Career Panel at APHA

Are you starting your career in environmental health? Do you want a chance to network with environmental health professionals? If you answered “yes” to these questions, then please join the Environment Section Career Panel on Sunday, November 16 from 4:30-6:00 p.m.

Please sign-up to ensure your spot at a table with your environmental health professional of choice! This low-pressure event will allow you to participate in small table discussions with your environmental health colleagues. The Membership Committee has compiled an exciting list of mid- to late- career environmental health professionals to discuss their career trajectory. Profiles of Solicited Panelists:

  • Local/State Health Department – one who has spent most of their career at city, county, or state level health department
  • Non-Profit Public Health – one who has spent most of their career in non-profit public health practice and advocacy, such as Sierra Club or NRDC
  • Public Health Practice Support – one who has worked at organizations which provide support and guidance for local and state health departments, such as ASTHO or NACCHO
  • Federal Regulatory Agency – one who has spent most of their career at a federal regulatory agency, such as EPA or FDA
  • Federal Research Career – one who has spent most of their career conducting research at a federal agency, such as CDC or NIH
  • Academia – one who has spent most of their career in academia
  • Public Health Consulting – one who has spent most of their career in consulting, such as RTI or John Snow, Inc
