The University of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions Department of Epidemiology and the UF College of Medicine will host Dr. Pamela Matson speaking on “Using a System Science Approach to Understand How Dynamic Social Complexities Influence Adolescent and Young Adult Marijuana Use” on Thursday, November 7 at 4:00 p.m. Eastern. Dr. Matson is an assistant professor in the department of pediatrics at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and director of research of the Adolescent Medicine Fellowship Program at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She studies the mechanisms by which social determinants produce health disparities in adolescent substance use, teen dating violence, and sexually transmitted infections.
