The University of Florida department of epidemiology at the University of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions and the UF College of Medicine will host Dr. Miguel A. Hernán speaking on “How do we learn what works? A two-step algorithm for causal inference from real world data” on Thursday, January 9 at 4 p.m. Eastern. The talk is available to view via livestream.
Dr. Hernán is the Kolokotrones Professor of Biostatistics and Epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. His research is focused on learning what works for the treatment and prevention of diseases like cancer, cardiovascular disease and HIV infection. He and his collaborators design analyses of health care databases, epidemiologic studies and randomized trials. For over a decade, he has coordinated the HIV-CAUSAL Collaboration, a multinational consortia of prospective studies from Europe and the Americas.
