Florida: Livestream Presentation on Precision Medicine and Public Health

 The Department of Epidemiology at the University of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions and the UF College of Medicine will host Dr. Thomas Pearson and Dr. Hui Hu speaking on “Genetic Code versus ZIP Code: The Complementarity of Precision Medicine and Precision Public Health” on Thursday, April 18 at 4:00 p.m. Eastern.

Dr. Pearson is a professor in the department of epidemiology at the UF College of Public Health and Health Professions and the College of Medicine and director of its MD-PhD program. Dr. Pearson’s research has focused on cardiovascular epidemiology, clinical lipidology and precision public health. His work has been continuously funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for 35 years. Dr. Hu is an assistant professor in the UF department of epidemiology. As an epidemiologist with specializations in spatial analyses and health data science, Dr. Hu’s research interests also include exposome data integration and use of machine learning algorithms to identify actionable patterns from population-based health data.
