Florida’s HealthStreet Hosts National Conversation on Pesticides and Human Health

HealthStreet, a community engagement program at the University of Florida, is hosting a free national Our Community, Our Health town hall event on Wednesday, August 29 from 6 to 7 p.m. EDT entitled “Pesticides and Health: What We Need to Know.” Our Community, Our Health is a series of conversations between researchers and community members from across the country.

The event can be viewed August 29 via livestream.

HealthStreet is supported by the University of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions, the UF College of Medicine and the UF Clinical and Translational Science Institute.

Join scientists as they discuss pest control and the impact of chemical pesticides on human health, including questions such as:

  • Do pesticides increase the risk of neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s?
  • How are we exposed to pesticides?
  • How can we protect ourselves in our own communities and while on the job?
