Florida’s HealthStreet Hosts National Conversation on Zika Research

HealthStreet, a community engagement program at the University of Florida, is hosting a national Our Community, Our Health town hall event on March 30 from 6 to 7 p.m. Eastern to sharing the latest findings and address community concerns about the Zika virus. Our Community, Our Health is a series of conversations between researchers and community members from across the country.

HealthStreet is supported by the UF College of Public Health and Health Professions, the UF College of Medicine and the UF Clinical and Translational Science Institute.

This interactive town hall is designed to:

  • Increase community knowledge of Zika
  • Share research being done at various institutions
  • Inform the public of policy agendas
  • Garner community recommendations for research topics

Panelists include:

  • Dr. Adriane Gelpi, an assistant professor of public health and bioethics at the University of Miami School of Medicine
  • Dr. Anna Likos, the deputy secretary for health at the Florida Department of Health
  • Dr. Ira Longini, a professor in the UF department of biostatistics
  • Dr. John Lednicky, an associate professor in the UF department of environmental and global health
