University of Florida’s HealthStreet will host its first national forum, “Our Community, Our Health” on Thursday, April 9 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. ET.
“Our Community, Our Health” brings diverse communities together to foster an ongoing conversation among health researchers and community members, including those who participate in research. Each forum begins with a community reception and local updates at each site. Then, all sites join brief, live-streamed presentations by researchers who have conducted recent health studies. Participants are invited to discuss the studies and future research with the presenters, encouraging a mutual understanding of health research and its impact. Text messaging is used to facilitate questions from participants across sites. Forums conclude with advice on how to talk to a health care provider about the topics discussed.
Visit the “Our Community, Our Health” website for more information and a list of Clinical and Translational Science Award hubs that are hosting local events.
