Milken Institute School of Public Health (Milken Institute SPH) at the George Washington University will hold a conference on September 25 to highlight the disproportionate health challenges faced by many Latino communities and families—with a focus on possible solutions. Please join the Avance Center for the Advancement of Immigrant/Refugee Health for an opportunity to learn more about health disparities that affect the Latino community as well as innovative projects and studies that seek to address these disparities.
The Avance Center, a partnership between Milken Institute SPH, the Maryland Multicultural Youth Centers, the Rivera Group and other community groups, was established in 2012 to better understand and address health disparities that affect immigrant/refugee communities, including substance abuse, sex risk and violence.
