Health in All Policies Faculty Development Workshop

June 18, 2018 June 20, 2018

The World Health Organization (WHO) in collaboration with the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) and the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) invites you to attend a skill-building workshop to build education/training and practice approaches that move policy in support of both health and the environment.  Air pollution exposure will be used as an example for policy and action in this workshop. Learning outcomes from the training follow:

  • Explain the Health in All Policies (HiAP) approach using examples from air pollution and other health determinants
  • Identify key skills for facilitating collaborative approaches to promote health equity
  • Identify multisectoral strategies and policies at local, regional, national, and global levels to reduce air pollution
  • Create a personalized action plan for implementing HiAP in one’s teaching and/or practice
  • Develop and engage with a network of champions involved in HiAP and air pollution

Apply online by Wednesday, April 25. Kindly note that space is limited. Preference will be given to those who are best positioned to apply the workshop content in their teaching and/or practice. Pairs of applicants consisting of a representative from: (a) teaching and (b) other professions involved in public heath practice, regulation, policy-making or implementation are particularly encouraged to apply. Contact Liz Weist with questions at eweist@aspph.org.
