An event to be held in August 6-7 in Lexington will emphasize safety for children living and working on farms. The Child Agricultural Injury Prevention Workshop, hosted by the National Children’s Center for Rural and Agricultural Health and Safety and the Southeast Center for Agricultural Health and Injury Prevention (SCAHIP) will help participants increase their knowledge of childhood agricultural safety strategies and resources. Organizers hope attendees will use the information and resources available at the workshop to develop and enhance their organization’s child agricultural injury prevention efforts.
According to the event organizers, the workshops are ideal for farm organizations, insurance professionals, agribusiness, bankers and lenders, healthcare providers, Extension, Future Farmers of America (FFA) Advisors, public health officials and media. The two-day event will take place at the Embassy Suites by Hilton at Lexington Green, 245 Lexington Green Circle, Lexington, Ky. 40503.
Some registration scholarships are available.
