Please join the School of Public Health for the formal inauguration of the University of Maryland Federal Statistical Research Data Center (FSRDC). The UMD FRSDC is a collaboration between the University of Maryland and the U.S. Census Bureau, and is supported by a partnership among the UMD Smith School of Business, the UMD College of Behavioral & Social Sciences (BSOS), and the UMD School of Public Health (SPH). The Carey School at Johns Hopkins University is also a founding FSRDC partner. There are currently 24 open Federal Statistical Research Data Center locations, which partner with over 50 research organizations including universities, nonprofit research institutions, and government agencies. Dr. Michel Boudreaux, assistant professor in the UMD SPH’s Department of Health Services Administration, serves on the executive board for the UMD FSRDC.
At the information session, there will be opportunities to meet Center faculty and staff, and discuss potential research projects. Officials from the U.S. Census Bureau will give presentations covering the process of conducting research at the FSRDC and data products accessible through the network, and representatives from the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) and Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) will talk about how to access their restricted-use data from the FSRDC. UMD faculty who are currently using the data for their research will also present their work.
Please RSVP by 5 pm on Thursday, November 10. Space is limited, and the presentations will be simulcast in an overflow room.
