In recognition of the 2014 Great American Smokeout, the University of Michigan SPH, Medical School, and MHealthy Tobacco Consultation Service present a 60-minute webinar on emerging issues in tobacco use and treatment. Objective of the webinar is to increase participants’ knowledge of current issues in tobacco policy, including e-cigarettes and their potential risks, best practices for tobacco treatment, working with underrepresented populations and protocol for lung cancer screening. Mr. Cliff Douglas, JD, U-M SPH lecturer and director of the U-M Tobacco Research Network, will provide an overview of the Great American Smokeout and the tobacco epidemic including emerging products such as e-cigarettes. Disparate health impact of tobacco use on underrepresented groups and lung cancer screening will be covered by other speakers.
