“Prescription Opioid Use in Occupational Health Care: Reducing Risk and Improving Safety” will be presented as part of the University of Minnesota’s annual National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA) Symposium.
Dr. Thomas Wickizer of The Ohio State University will speak on the significant impact of opioids on the health services delivered to injured workers via the workers’ compensation system. He’ll also summarize the state of current initiatives aimed at addressing this public health crisis.
The event also includes a poster presentation from University of Minnesota School of Public Health students.
The NORA Symposium is co-sponsored by the University of Minnesota School of Public Health, the Midwest Center for Occupational Health and Safety Education and Research Center and the Upper Midwest Agricultural Safety and Health Center, both of which are housed in the University of Minnesota School of Public Health.
