University at Albany School of Public Health’s Center for Public Health Continuing Education will host a free, live webcast on Mental Health and Substance Abuse: Connecting the Dots Thursday, July 17, 2014, 9:00am – 10:00am EDT. Dr. Gerald Fishman, associate dean at Union Institute & University and Raymond Bizzari, director of Community Services at Cayuga County Health and Human Services will discuss the co-morbid relationship between mental health and substance abuse, using examples from public health initiatives being implemented in New York State. The speakers will address the role of public health in assisting community, state, and national entities addressing co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders. Continuing education credits are available for this program.
