SUNY Albany to Co-host Pediatric Emergency Preparedness Seminar Training

On May 19, the University at Albany Preparedness and Emergency Response Learning Center at the School of Public Health, and the Capital District Regional Health Emergency Preparedness Coalition, will host a Pediatric Emergency Preparedness Seminar training for healthcare, public health and emergency response professionals.  The training seminar which will provide a broad overview of potential care needs for the pediatric patient involved in an emergency/disaster situation.

The training seminar will include information for medical, trauma, and crisis response specific to the most vulnerable population in any emergency—children.

Topics to be discussed:

  • Pediatric Disaster Mental Health
  • Pediatric Triage
  • Pediatric Decontamination
  • Respiratory and Critical Care of the Pediatric Patient
  • Emerging Infectious Diseases and Children
  • Pediatric Trauma and Burns

Registration is available through the NYS DOH learning management system at www.nylearnsph.com. Register for the LMS and then search the calendar for May 19th “Live webcast-CDR HEPC” to enroll.

Continuing Education Credits:
