SUNY Albany Webcast – Saving Lives: How New York State is Increasing Colorectal Cancer Screening Rates

University at Albany School of Public Health’s Center for Public Health Continuing Education will host a free, live webcast, Saving Lives: How New York State is Increasing Colorectal Cancer Screening Rates, Thursday, March 17, 2016, from 9 am to 10 am Eastern. The broadcast will feature Daniel Napolitano, MD, AAHIVMS, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Director of Primary Care, Community Healthcare Network and Heather Dacus, DO, MPH, Director, Bureau of Cancer Prevention and Control, New York State Department of Health.  A national initiative known as 80% by 2018 is focused on eliminating CRC as a major public health problem. Community-based organizations, health care systems and government entities are coming together to take action toward this shared goal of reaching 80% of the eligible population being screened for CRC by 2018.  This webcast will outline the rationale for a statewide focus on the 80% by 2018 goal and highlight key evidence-based approaches in both health care and community-based settings.
