SUNY Albany Webinar - Kicking Cancer Out of Your Community: Strategies for Cancer Prevention

University at Albany School of Public Health’s Center for Public Health Continuing Education will host a free, live webcast on Kicking Cancer Out of Your Community: Strategies for Cancer Prevention, Thursday, September 18, 2014, 9-10:00 a.m. Eastern.  Speakers include Ms. Suzanne Kuon, director of Cancer Control Policy Initiatives at the New York State Department of Health Bureau of Chronic Disease Control, Ms. Glynnis S. Hunt, public health education coordinator for the Schenectady (NY) County Public Health Services, and Ms. Mary McFadden, supervising public health education coordinator for the Broome County (NY) Health Department. The program will highlight three cancer prevention initiatives implemented and evaluated by Schenectady County and Broome County. Discussion will focus on mobilizing communities to be supportive of strategies that focus on policy, system, and environmental (PSE) changes in order to reduce the risk of cancer among community residents.
