Temple: Community Lecture on Obesity – Philadelphia’s Public Health Challenge, April 22

On Monday, April 22 from 4 to 5:00 p.m. Eastern, Dr. David B. Sarwer, associate dean for research at Temple University College of Public Health and director of the Center for Obesity Research and Education will lead a community lecture on the topic, “Obesity: Philadelphia’s Public Health Challenge,” at the Ramonita G. de Rodriguez branch of the Free Library of Philadelphia.

Dr. Sarwer has a wealth of experience in the treatment of obesity with lifestyle modification interventions and pharmacotherapy. Dr. Sarwer is currently editor-in-chief of the new journal, Obesity Science and Practice. He also serves as an associate editor for both Health Psychology and Obesity Surgery; consulting editor for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery; and serves on the editorial boards of several other journals. In 2016, he was named to the editorial board of The American Psychologist.

This community lecture is held in partnership with the College of Public Health’s Office of Community Engaged Research and Practice.
