On Friday, February 22, Dr. Russell R. Pate, professor at the University of South Carolina’s Arnold School of Public Health and director of the Children’s Physical Activity Research Group, will visit Temple University as part of the College of Public Health’s Dean’s Seminar Series. Dr. Pate’s research interests and expertise focus on physical activity measurement, determinants, and promotion in children and youth. His talk, entitled “Policies for Promotion of Physical Activity & Prevention of Obesity in Youth,” will expand on some of his work.
Formed last year in recognition of the College’s accreditation by the Council on Education for Public Health, the Dean’s Seminar Series brings internationally renowned scholars and practitioners to campus for discussions on pressing issues facing an ever-expanding field of public health.
The event is free and open to the public.
