On Friday, March 2, Temple University’s College of Public Health will host a talk given by Dr. James Rimmer, director of the Lakeshore Foundation and the University of Alabama-Birmingham Research Collaborative, as part of the college’s Dean’s Seminar Series. In the talk, “Solving One of Public Health’s Most Significant Crises: Disability Inclusion,” Dr. Rimmer will identify the major health disparities in people with disabilities, explore issues associated with access and inclusion, and explain a new model for promoting community health inclusion across public health sectors. The event is free and open to the public.

For more than 25 years, Dr. Rimmer has worked on health promotion programs for people with disabilities. He is director of the National Center on Physical Activity and Disability and the Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center on Interactive Exercise Technologies and Exercise Physiology for People with Disabilities.
