UCLA: Paul Torrens Health Forum on Exploring Immunization Policy | Thursday, February 27

California’s vaccination laws rank among the strictest nationwide. In 2015, the State eliminated exemptions for vaccination based on personal beliefs. Governor Newson recently signed legislation authored by California State Senator Dr. Richard Pan, who joins us as a panelist, further tightening medical exemptions. What are the barriers, policy considerations and legal implications of protecting the public’s health through vaccinations? How do they intersect with personal choice, and how do they impact providers and employers? A panel that also includes a policy expert and a provider will explore these timely and important issues surrounding one of our most cost-effective “pillars” of public health.
