UIC Hosts Lecture on Google Flu

UIC School of Public Health is pleased to host distinguished lecturer Dr. Cristian Stefansen, Senior Engineer, Google Disease Trends.  Dr. Stefansen is leading efforts to redesign the influenza nowcasting model and providing direct data access via an API.  Google Flu/Dengue Trends provides real-time estimates of flu and dengue activity in over 25 countries and more than 1.5 billion people.  His current research focuses on natural language understanding at scale.
