The inaugural Interdisciplinary Nutrition Sciences Symposium (INSS) is a new annual translational nutrition science conference presented by the University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global Public Health’s Department of Nutrition. Presentations and practical discussions will address ideal formulations for path-breaking animal-to-human research, maximizing cross-talk and incorporating the latest technological tools to accomplish scientific goals.
INSS seeks to engage academic and industry leaders around this year’s theme: “Synergizing Animal and Human Obesity Research”. Interactive presentation and discussion sessions will facilitate integration across disciplines, synthesize knowledge and generate new ideas in key areas of research such as precision nutrition. INSS’s inclusive environment will encourage engagement by junior faculty from a wide range of backgrounds and disciplines by providing opportunities to network with senior investigators.
Together with creative partnerships across academic and industry, INSS aims to foster ideas for proposals and collaborative projects, and ultimately, to accelerate successful translational research.
