University at Buffalo: Lessons Learned in Global Health

On Saturday, May 30 the Office of Global Health Initiatives in the University at Buffalo School of Public Health and Health Professions will host Lessons Learned in Global Health.”

Keynote speaker Dr. Dan Kelly, is an infectious disease specialist at the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine. He has been at the forefront of the Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone and is a leading public voice in the crisis.

The program will:

  • Discuss the clinical health systems and social pathologies of Ebola
  • Exemplify how Ebola research can be a vehicle for global health equity
  • Review the improving delivery of culturally engaged healthcare for global communities in Western New York
  • Discuss the effects of trauma and torture on refugee survivors

This event will take place from10 a.m.–1 p.m. in Statler City at 107 Delaware Avenue, Buffalo NY.  Registration includes breakfast, lunch and tours of the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.
