Dr. Fadi El-Jardali has been awarded the sum of $CAD 650,000 by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) to lead an innovative project on “strengthening national health information systems to promote data-informed decision-making and achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”. The project will adopt a multi-faceted approach to promote well-functioning, responsive and equity-oriented health information systems that can provide relevant, reliable and timely data and information to effectively inform decision-making, support health systems strengthening, and improve health outcomes in the Middle East and North African region.

Dr. El-Jardali is a professor of health policy and systems and chairman of the health policy and management department (HMPD) at the American University of Beirut, Faculty of Health Sciences , Graduate Public Health Program . He is also the founder and the director of the Knowledge to Policy (K2P) Center; co-director of the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Center for Evidence-Informed Policy and Practice; co-director of the Center for Systematic Reviews in Health Policy and Systems Research (SPARK); and co-director of the Nodal institute at the American University of Beirut, Lebanon.
