The Miami-Dade Unit of the National Association of Social Workers – Florida Chapter has selected Mr. David Saltman, to receive the “Lifetime Achievement Award.” Mr. Saltman will be presented his award during the annual NASW-FL Miami-Dade Unit Social Work Month Celebration March 13.
“Aside from all of Mr. Salman’s many accomplishments in the field as clinician and administrator, he has been a social work educator with Florida International for well over 30 years and a driving force behind the education of our students on working with the elderly. Congratulations David on a well deserved recognition,” said Dr. Mary Helen, director of the School of Social Work, which is part of the Florida International University Robert Stempel College of Public Health and Social Work.
An adjunct lecturer and a licensed clinical social worker with more than 47 years of clinical experience, Mr. Saltman also serves as chair of the Miami-Dade Mayor’s Initiative on Aging. Mr. Saltman earned his Master of Social Work from Rutgers School of Public Health and specializes in psychotherapy with adolescents, adults, couples, and elders.
