FIU Robert Stempel College of Public Health & Social Work graduate student Ms. Stephanie Diez has been recognized by the 2016 Florida Statewide Graduate Research Symposium with the First Place Award in the Social Sciences Category for her presentation, Problematic video game play in a sample of children and youth: An empirical examination.
Ms. Diez is a graduate student in the School of Social Work and her mentor is Dr. Mario De La Rosa, a social work professor, internationally known researcher and current director of the Center for Substance Use and AIDS Research on Latinos in the United States (CRUSADA).
Ms. Diez was one of three Florida International University students to receive awards. She was joined by: Ms. Antonina Kulchitskaya, second place winner, social sciences category; and Ms. Kendra Adams, second place winner, biological sciences category.
The Florida Statewide Graduate Research Symposium celebrates and recognizes the outstanding scholarly accomplishments of Florida graduate students by highlighting the importance of graduate education and research, as well as graduate students’ role in promoting knowledge.
