Florida Student Receives National Council of Sciences and Technology of Paraguay Grant

Dr. Cesar Escobar-Viera, a doctoral student in health services research at the University of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions, has received a $163,000 grant from the National Council of Sciences and Technology of Paraguay to collaborate with the Catholic University of Paraguay and the Ministry of Health of Paraguay on testing the acceptability and feasibility of implementing a system of electronic health records to improve the delivery of Paraguay’s public mental health services. Three UF faculty members serve as co-investigators: Dr. Jeffrey Harman, the Louis C. and Jane Gapenski Professor in the department of health services research, management and policy, Dr. Christopher Harle, an assistant professor in the department of health services research, management and policy, and Dr. Catherine Striley, an assistant professor in the department of epidemiology.
