Florida Student Receives Society of Behavioral Medicine’s Ethnic Minority and Multicultural Health Special Interest Group Award

Ms. Allyson Diggins, a doctoral student in the department of clinical and health psychology at the University of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions, has been selected to receive the Student Award for outstanding oral abstract submission from the Society of Behavioral Medicine’s Ethnic Minority and Multicultural Health Special Interest Group.

Ms. Diggins will present her research, “A Qualitative Examination of the Influence of Culture on Engagement in Physical Activity among Black Women,” at the society’s annual meeting in San Diego later this month and will receive her award during the Ethnic Minority and Multicultural Health Special Interest Group meeting. Ms. Diggins is mentored by Dr. Nicole Whitehead, an assistant professor in the UF department of clinical and health psychology.
